MEBAC Safety Floor Plates
In areas of heavy foot traffic where liquid spills can cause a slipping hazard, IKG MEBAC anti-slip plates supply a safety floor coating that provides a practical solution for safety mangers to ensure their personnel has a slip-resistant surface.
MEBAC slip-resistant coated surfaces are available from IKG in various surface options for most standard-size shapes and plates, including carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. They can be supplied for both new and existing facilities.
Standard MEBAC® anti-slip plates for floor coatings are furnished to standard mill tolerances on length, width, and squareness. In installations where the plates will be laid side-by-side and tighter tolerances required to assure satisfactory fit-up, dimension tolerances should be specified.
MEBAC®anti-slip plates can be supplied in two ways. For existing facilities, areas prone to slipperiness due to grease, oil or other liquids can be retrofit with MEBAC® Anti-Slip Plates. For new projects, MEBAC Anti-Slip Plates can be fabricated to spec for the area needed.
IKG recommends that a quality rust–inhibitive coating be applied after application to protect the MEBAC-coated floor coatings on Mill Finished Steel from rusting if exposed to moisture. Our national sales office will be happy to provide details and assistance.

Considerations
Sizes
Standard size MEBAC® anti-slip plates are furnished with mill tolerances in length, width and squareness.
Tolerances
Dimension tolerances should be specified for installations where the plates will be laid side-by-side and tighter tolerances required to assure satisfactory fit-up.
Galvanizing
When hot-dipped galvanizing, MEBAC Galvanizing Guidelines should be followed.

Surface Options/Finishes
Mill Finish Carbon Steel MEBAC will rust readily if exposed to moisture. Care must be taken during transit and storage to protect from moisture. We recommend a quality rust inhibitive coating be applied after application of Mill Finished Steel MEBAC to protect the surface from rusting.
Anti-Slip Safety Stair Treads
MEBAC proprietary slip-resistant surfaces from IKG can be applied to treads and stair treads as an added safety feature.
It is ideal when superior slip resistance for stair treads is required in areas such as busy stair areas in factory or manufacturing floors where liquids such as oil, cutting fluids, or coolant are present.
MEBAC Surfaced Steel Z-Treads are a staircase system that uses a single piece of 3/16-in. carbon steel plate to form 6- to 7-inch risers, treads, and stringer attachment brackets with no welds.
Z-Treads provide a fast, economical method to design and construct a steel staircase with built-in, long-term slip resistance for stair treads that is durable, strong, and low maintenance. It provides a superior coefficient of friction under wet or dry conditions. The simplicity and versatility of Z-Treads allow fast, easy field erection, saving time and money.
IKG MEBAC Z-Treads meet or exceed BOCA, UBC, and OSHA standard loading requirements and exceed Mil C-81346A, 4.7.4 fire resistance requirements.
MEBAC is not only the industry leader in anti-slip coatings and slip resistance for stair treads but the originator of the most durable, versatile, and economical line of anti-slip coatings that can be applied to almost any surface for any application.
