Lightweight, Corrosion Resistant Aluminum Grating
Aluminum Swage Locked grating products are available from IKG® in a wide selection of styles for many applications. Standard panels are available in 2- or 3-ft widths by 24-ft long or 20-ft long (span) and are available for quick delivery from IKG’s network of distribution and manufacturing centers. Swage locked grating can be easily modified on site during installation.
Swage Locked Construction
The key to aluminum swage locked grating is in its construction. Cross bars and bearing bars are permanently locked in place during the manufacturing process. The cross bars, hydraulically swaged under tons of pressure, lock the bearing bars in place, providing high strength and rigidity in a light weight, virtually maintenance-free grating. The bars are prevented from turning, resulting in a sturdy, durable, economical product.
Applications
Aluminum swage locked grating is corrosion resistant, light weight, strong and provides a smooth safe surface. These attributes make IKG’s aluminum swage locked grating ideal for applications near water such as water and wastewater treatment plants, walkways near fountains or streams, and water parks. It also has many applications in heavy industry such as paper mills, distribution centers and warehouses and can help cities and municipalities meet ADA compliance. The lightweight construction and tight mesh also make it ideal for uses such as sunscreens.
Rectangular Bar
Rectangular Bar Swage Locked Grating provides all the strength of aluminum pressure locked grating at lower cost.
Available in plain surface, serrated, or Aluminum MEBAC® slip-resistant surface.
I-Bar
I-Bar grating is our lightest weight, lowest cost aluminum grating. Its high strength, slip-resistant bearing bars and low cost make this grating an excellent choice. I-Bar is available in grating panels or as a custom fabricated product, in grooved surface or Aluminum MEBAC®.
Safe-T-Grid®
IKG’s proprietary Safe-T-Grid aluminum grating is ideal for architectural entrances and walkways where an aesthetic surface is desired.
Available in grooved or Aluminum MEBAC® slip-resistant surface.
BS – (S-19-4)
The BS product is the most commonly specified Swage Locked grating with bearing bars on 1-3/16″ centers and cross bars on 4″ centers.
FS – (S-19-2)
FS maintains the common 1-3/16″ bearing bar center distance with 2″ cross bar spacing for a tighter opening.
IB – (S-19-4)
The IB product is approved for all general purposes with bearing bars on 1-3/16″ centers and cross bars on 4″ centers.
IF – (S-19-2)
The IF product is for general purposes with bearing bars on 1-3/16″ centers and cross bars on 2″ centers for conditions where more surface area is required.
TB940 – (S-19-4)
Rectangular Bar
Rectangular Bar Swage Locked Grating provides all the strength of aluminum pressure locked grating at a slightly lower cost. The cross bars, hydraulically swaged under tons of pressure, lock the bearing bars in place, providing high strength and rigidity in a light weight, virtually maintenance-free grating. They are frequently used in waste water treatment applications. Available with a plain or serrated surface, the rectangular bar can also be ordered with Aluminum MEBAC® slip-resistant surface.
BS – (S-19-4)
