Aluminum Plank Grating

Architectural Style In Lightweight Aluminum

Aluminum plank grating from IKG is the perfect solution for applications where a low-cost, easy-to-install, lightweight yet strong product is required.

The strength of aluminum plank grating comes from the bearing bars. I-beam sections form the integral part of the extrusion, so punch outs do not weaken the aluminum plank. The cut-out portions of the surface allow the passage of light, heat, and air, but do not reduce the load-bearing capacity of the flooring. The integral I-beam vertical supports provide an excellent strength-to-weight ration.

All IKG aluminum plank grating features a flush surface for added comfort and safety. Both rectangular, square, and circular patterns are available with horizontal or bi-directional ridges to reduce the chance of slipping. The aluminum material means the plank is non-magnetic, non-sparking, and corrosion-resistant in most environments.

High-quality extruded aluminum plank sections are available in sizes and styles to meet every application. Plank sections are 6-in. wide with lengths up to 26 ft. Our distribution centers and factories are standing by to fill your order.

Applications

Aluminum plank grating is available from IKG in punched and unpunched configurations. Unpunched grating is best when a lightweight, solid floor is required. Punched grating provides the added benefit of allowing the passage of air and light. Its architectural appearance and low maintenance make it ideal for many applications.

Standard aluminum plank grating size is 6” wide X 26’-0 long with some 20’-0 lengths available.

Loading Table

Aluminum CM4, CMf4

The CM4 close mesh product has bearing bars spaced 11/16 in. on center and cross bars spaced 4 in. on center. It provides a larger open area where more ventilation is required beneath the grating and satisfies the maximum ½-in. clear opening as required by the ADA, if bearing bars have 3/16-in. thickness.

Plank Solid3

Style “P” – (Unpunched)

Solid surfaced, ideally used for pedestrian traffic areas, or where light penetration or order control are concerns.

Available in Aluminum at ¾-in., 1-in., 1-1/4-in., 1-1/2-in., 1-3/4-in., 2-in., 2-1/4-in., and 2-1/2-in. depths.

Rectangle Punched Aluminum Plank

Style “RU” – (Rectangular Upset Punched)

An upset punched 19/32 by 3-in. rectangular opening for increased skid resistance resulting in a 37.1% open area.

Available in Aluminum at ¾-in., 1-in., 1-1/4-in., 1-1/2-in., 1-3/4-in., 2-in., 2-1/4-in., and 2-1/2-in. depths. -3/4”, 2”, 2-1/4”, and 2-1/2” depths.

Square Punched Aluminum Plank

Style “SU” – (Square Upset Punched)

An upset punched 19/32-in. square opening for increased skid resistance resulting in a 22.3% open area.

Available in Aluminum at ¾-in., 1-in., 1-1/4-in., 1-1/2-in., 1-3/4-in., 2-in., 2-1/4-in., and 2-1/2-in. depths*.
