Anti-Slip Ladder Rungs and Rung Covers
Ladders are one place where slips tend to have the most extreme consequences.
IKG offers the ideal anti-slip solution with its proven line of MEBAC coating that provides slip resistance for ladder rungs. MEBAC slip-resistant coating is ideal when fabricating all types of ladder rungs and rung covers for both new and existing ladders. For new construction, IKG offers MEBAC surfaced ladder rungs. For retrofitting existing ladders, we offer MEBAC easy-to-install rung covers. MEBAC comes in a variety of surfaces, coatings, and finishes for any application and can fabricate to your exact project specifications.
MEBAC meets or exceeds all known coefficient of friction requirements for ladders under wet or dry conditions. Versatile and economical, MEBAC surfaces are readily available from IKG and can be applied to solid, square carbon steel or aluminum bars on one side only.
Our surfaced rungs and rung covers are available in stock lengths of 10 in. (steel) and 12 in. (aluminum) or can be cut to a specific length for your application. MEBAC ladder rung covers are available in two sizes to install over existing ¾- or 1-in. round rungs. Application of MEBAC slip resistance for ladder rungs can bring existing ladders to current slip-resistant standards.

Surface Options/Finishes
Mill Finish Carbon Steel MEBAC will rust readily if exposed to moisture. Care must be taken during transit and storage to protect from moisture. We recommend a quality rust inhibitive coating be applied after application of Mill Finished Steel MEBAC to protect the surface from rusting.
Renovated Safety Floor Coatings
IKG offers a complete line of versatile MEBAC extruded aluminum slip-resistant stair tread nosings for stair treads for both new construction and renovation and for either concrete or metal stair treads.
Our slip-resistant stair tread nosings offer low maintenance, a high strength-to-weight ratio and superior coefficient of friction for slip resistance under wet or dry conditions. Companies in many industries now benefit from the added safety gained by using MEBAC stair tread nosings as part of their safety program.
Aluminum renovation nosings are specially designed with a unique tapered rear edge, to alleviate the potential trip hazard found on conventional nosings. They are economical and easy to install for almost all retrofit applications. Renovation nosings are furnished in lengths up to 20 ft and come in widths of 3-3/4- and 7-in. They come fabricated with countersunk holes for easy field installation.
MEBAC aluminum embedment nosings are made with a durable ¼-in. thick extrusion to guard against impact cracking. Economical and suitable for stair treads in new construction, embedment nosings can be used in poured-in-place, pan type or terrazzo stairs. Embedment nosing are furnished in lengths up to 20 ft and are available in 3- and 4-in. widths in three different styles.

MEBAC nosings for filled pan treads include a 7° sloped riser. They are available in 3- or 4-in. width, with EZ-Anchor (shown) or with countersunk holes, nuts, bolts, and wing anchors.

EZ Anchor
EZ Anchor can be used with MEBAC embedment nosings in poured-in-place, pan type or terrazzo stairs. The integral anchor is properly spaced for easy anchoring in wet concrete (2 in. from each end and 14- to 18-in. center-to-center). Positive anchorage has less tendency for stress cracking of concrete.
